What I Ate Wednesday – When It’s a Mommy’s Morning Out

My good friend and fellow homeschooler, Heather, watches my little ones from time to time to give Mommy a morning out of the house.  We usually do this on a “Fun Friday-themed day,” but this week she needed to switch.  I had an appointment and some errands to run, so I made lunch the night before.  But first things first…

Breakfast:

I experimented a little with our organic oats.  I tossed in some cinnamon, since it’s good for your heart and hoping it would mask the taste of my experiment since it’s a familiar spice.  I went ahead and drizzled a touch of agave.  Then, the experimental protein powder was added.  I liked it, the two littles ate it, but W. could not get past the powder-y initial taste.  I kept reminding him how thankful his muscles would be (especially since he ran with me pre-breakfast).  He ate 3/4 of his bowl full.

AM Snack:

Kale, Cucumber, Apple Carrot Fresh Juice (not pictured since I slurped it down so fast!) from the new raw cafe´.

Lunch:

Southwest Salad served over a bed of raw rainbow kale, Tings Crunchy Corn Sticks and Kiwi Slices

Dinner:

Eggplant Lasagna and Steamed Broccoli

What are your favorite oatmeal and/or lasagna add-ins?
