Vegan BBQ Recipe Ideas

Posted on September 3, 2011

I just got in from grocery store and the local natural foods stores with our supplies for Monday’s vegan bbq.  Being from the south, holidays like Labor Day, The Fourth of July and Memorial Day all require bar-b-q in my book.

If you want something a little different for your bar-b-q, I might suggest veggie kebabs.  Here I am making these at a friend’s house for a Fourth of July celebration where we also had Deep Dish Apple Pie and Cherry Pie:

Since that celebration was on the Fourth weekend, we had bbq again at home on the actual holiday.  Check out this Easy Vegan 4th of July BBQ meal idea.

For Labor Day this Monday the menu is simple but tasty.  It consists of bar-b-que seitan, baked beans, corn-on-the-cob, slaw and apple turnovers.

For this simple meal I picked up the following from the store:

  • 2 packages of West Soy seitan and Annie’s bbq sauce (I usually make my own seitan, but again am making it simple this time).
  • 2 cans Eden Foods baked beans
  • Corn-on-the-cob
  • Packaged slaw
  • Granny Smith apples for the turnovers

I will be sure to post pictures once we have it all plated and ready to eat Monday!  Happy long weekend to everyone.
