Basketball Gone Gourmet – Chocolate Covered Strawberries and Pretzels

My friend Anita teased me with the gourmet comment when I said I just made Chocolate Covered Strawberries and Pretzels for K’s first basketball game.  It’s picture night, her first game and her turn to bring snacks tomorrow.

I figured most kids will probably have to eat dinner after the game, so I wanted to do fruit.  Then, I got to thinking that since it is so close to Valentine’s Day, why not add chocolate?!  I asked K what she thought.  Duh!  That was a no-brainer!

Chocolate Covered Strawberries, Pretzels, Etc.:

  • 1 bag vegan chocolate chips
  • strawberries, pretzels or dipper of your choice

In a double boiler (I use a glass bowl that fits on top of a small sauce pan 1/4 full of water on medium heat), melt the chocolate chips, stirring often.  Dip strawberries, pretzels, etc. in chocolate and lay on parchment covered tray to harden.  Enjoy!
