Baby Cakes Vegan Bakery Open at Downtown Disney

Baby Cakes vegan bakery is now open at Downtown Disney!  Baby Cakes has sister stores in New York and LA.

I dropped by a couple of weeks ago to pickup K’s birthday cake.  (Her name was at the bottom in purple).

 

The cake was very tasty, and the icing was phenomenal.  In addition to Baby Cakes’ ingredients being vegan, gluten-free, refined sugar-free, wheat-free, soy free and Kosher they also use plants to dye the icing instead of using artificial food dyes.  (I thought K did an excellent job picking out her colors).

The cases of desserts looked amazing!  I can’t wait to go back and sample more.

I found out from Emily, the general manager, that I just missed Erin McKenna’s, Baby Cakes’ founder and author, book signing for her cookbook, BabyCakes: Vegan, (Mostly) Gluten-Free, and (Mostly) Sugar-Free Recipes from New York’s Most Talked-About Bakery.  But they are hoping she will be back soon.

The Baby Cakes’ blog announced this week that Erin’s new book, BabyCakes Covers the Classics: Gluten-Free Vegan Recipes from Donuts to Snickerdoodles, is due out March 12.  Maybe another Downtown Disney book signing in March, Erin?!
