An Unexpected Christmas Gift: Chef Tal Ronnen’s Cookbook, “The Conscious Cook”

So, you all know I have a stack of cookbooks on loan from the library right now.  I have had my nose in The Kind Life, Vegan Brunch, Baby Cakes and Engine 2 Diet for a week!  Well, little did I know that all my attention would be turned the past two days to a new love, Chef Tal Ronnen’s Cookbook, The Conscious Cook.

My parents gifted it to me for Christmas.  And what an unexpected gift.  I didn’t expect that Mom would order it, and I didn’t expect to love it so much.  I have literally put it down only when it was absolutely necessary to go to bed!

The cookbook contains recipes that look amazing (a photo accompanies every recipe), and it has several informative interviews with different people who were responsible for doing things like bringing quinoa to the U.S. and creating Veganaise.  On top of that, you get a peek into the Chef’s pantry, and he has pages dedicated to discussing varieties of leafy greens, sea vegetables and more.

This is going to the top of my list of recommended vegan cookbooks.  If you have not checked it out, go quick.  You have no idea what you are missing!
