Green Day Cafe: Healthy Fast-Food! (Orlando)

Posted on November 3, 2010

Yesterday, I finally had the chance to try Green Day Cafe’ on Lee Road in Orlando.   It was so refreshing to have a healthy eating option where I could go through a drive-thru to order my lunch (something I have not done in years) instead of having to wake my sleeping baby to go inside and eat.

While their menu is not all vegan, they do have many vegan options.  I opted for the Hummus with Warm Pita Bread and  7 Layer Rice Bowl with no cheese, which was delicious with a hint of spice.  I washed it all down with iced green tea.

Green Day states on their website, “Green Day Cafe’ strives to provide a healthier alternative to the (SAD) Standard American Diet and typical fast food choices available in our rushed lives.”  In addition to convenient, healthy and delicious food, it is great to know they also promote eco-friendly practices.  Check out their menu and Facebook page.  I just saw on their Facebook wall that right now they have fat-free vegan spiced pumpkin bread (that is calling my name)!
